Zanzibar Slot

Head to the desert and go pillaging for golden coins, a 5 reel, 30 payline video slot from WMS Gaming. This Arabian themed offering comes with a Free Spins feature where all wins are doubled as well as offering replicating wilds which can give your winnings a real leg up. Stakes start at 30p per spin, going up to £90 per spin for high rollers.

Zanzibar has a strong flavour of historical Arabia so look out for ornate jewels, weapons and stallions on the reels. The biggest paying symbol is the Oasis scene which is the wild and will get you 500 times your line bet if you find 5 in a payline. The Oasis symbol appears on all reels apart from the middle. It isn't the only Wild on show in Zanzibar though. Look out too for the Sunset Palms symbol which is also wild and only appears on reel 3.

If the Sunset Palms symbol forms part of a winning payline, it will trigger the Replicating Wild feature. A random number of symbols from the successful payline are turned into wilds and a second consideration will be made and hopefully a tidy payout heading to the cashier. Replicating wilds can be had in both the base game and the free spins. This feature can also be found in other WMS slots such as Dragon’s Inferno.

Those free spins are triggered by the Fighting Woman symbol - find 3 of them anywhere on the reels and you'll be awarded 10 free spins. Four will give you 20 free spins with five offering a cool 40 free spins. That's not all as all wins during the feature are subject to a 2x multiplier and doubled. You can trigger more free games if the Fighting Woman appears during the bonus round.

The variance in Zanzibar is in the medium range with the big wins coming from the feature naturally. The Replicating Wilds hit much more regularly and generally provide a steady stream of lower value wins. If the wilds fall nicely they can provide a nice little boost.

Visually, Zanzibar is pretty good - the symbols are nicely drawn and are perfectly sharp against the beige backdrop. The soundtrack is generic though which is a little disappointing. There isn't a whole raft of features on show but the free spins with the double multiplier is well worth hitting and the Replicating Wilds keeps things moving along.

The only mystery really is why an Arabian themed slot is called Zanzibar given that Zanzibar is nowhere near Arabia and they don't speak Arabic there. That factual quibble aside, Zanzibar is well worth closer investigation. The game is only available at Unibet Casino though which offer plenty of exclusives – Play ‘N Go’s Eye of the Kraken was released exclusively early at Unibet too.
