The design in Asgard is nicely done. With mountains, waterfalls and thunderous skies in the background, the reels are set within a set of golden pillars. You’ll see lower value A to 10 symbols alongside a quartet of Norse gods. The best of them is the bearded figure of Odin who pays 10 times your stake if you land 5 on a payline. The Asgard symbol is the wild which replaces everything bar the bonus (the helmet) and offers awards of up to 20 times your total stake.
Pragmatic Play has packed in plenty of action here, starting with the 4 modifiers that can strike at random on any base game spin. They’re each associated with a specific Norse deity.
- Royals Transform to Wild feature (Thor) - at the end of any spin, all of the lower value royal values can transform into wilds. A new payout calculation is then made.
- Mystery Stacked Symbol feature (Loki) - all instances of Loki’s special symbol transform into the same matching symbol. This can create massive clusters with payouts to match.
- Raining Wilds feature (Freyja) - she adds 3, 4 or 5 extra wilds to random positions on the reels.
- Stacked Wild Reels feature (Odin) - reels can turn into stacked wilds here. These can hit on any of the reels, better still on more than 1 on the same spin.
Asgard also comes with a Free Spins feature which is triggered by landing the bonus symbol on reels 2, 3 and 4 on the same spin. There are 4 in all, each of them awarding 5 free spins - which one you get is chosen at random. Those free spins come with the same extras as above. They will be active on every free spin rather than just hitting at random though. Here’s what you can expect to see:

Asgard is an impressive take on this increasingly popular theme. The visuals are well done and the orchestral soundtrack gives the game a suitably epic feel. The range of features is nicely done too. The random modifiers hit regularly and the Free Spins feature offer plenty of potential. The variance here sits slap bang in the medium range.
