A fairytale castle forms the backdrop to the reels in The King's Crown - the obligatory A to 10 playing cards are present and correct. They're joined by a white dove and a bird of prey, both of which award 1, 10 or 25 times your total stake if you manage to land 3, 4 or 5 on a payline. Better still is the princess who'll get you 2, 15 or 50 times your total bet followed by the prince who awards payouts of 5, 25 or 100 times your stake.
Best of the lot is the jester who'll really leave you laughing if he lands nicely - he is the game's wild and replaces all other symbols apart from the crown. Landing 2, 3, 4 or 5 jester wilds will get you 1, 10, 50 or 200 times your stake.
The King's Crown comes with not 1 but 2 wilds. As well as the jester, look out for the crown symbol - this acts a little differently to the norm and appears on reel 3 only. When it lands, 1, 2 or 3 symbols are chosen at random. Any of these symbols will then be crowned and turned into wilds. This is known as the Crown feature.
The King's Crown is quite nicely designed with the visuals looking a little like they're from a children's TV animation. The gameplay is pretty basic though. The lack of free spins will certainly put some people off but the crown wilds are a tidy enough substitute though and can deliver some very impressive results.
It may be a little dull for some players but an audience with The King's Crown can be rewarding if the dual wilds work their magic. Saying that, Novomatic offers much better games with titles such as River Queen and Kingdom of Legend highly recommended.
