Fortunium Slot

Enter a steampunk world filled with mechanical wonders in Fortunium. Created by Microgaming, it’s played using a 5 reel, 5 row, 40 payline slot game engine and comes with transforming mystery symbols and a free spins round where whole reels can morph into the same mystery symbol. Play on all devices from between 10p and £125 per spin.

The set up in Fortunium is a little unusual. The action takes place on an expanded 5x5 reels set which fills up most of the screen. Joining the lower value playing card suit symbols are a trio of mechanical objects - all of these symbols can spin in 2-high stacks. They’re joined by male and female characters called Maximilian and Victoria who spin in 5-high stacks. There’s also a wild that replaces all other symbols apart from the scatter.

You’ll also see ? symbols spinning around the reels - when these hit, they all transform into the same matching symbol. This can be a low or high value symbol as well as the wild. This is known as the Mystery Symbols feature. If you wish, you can activate the Win Booster feature - this will cost you an extra 50% per spin. In return, when the mystery ? symbols land, they will only transform into a high value symbol or a wild.

Fortunium also comes with a Free Spins feature which is triggered by landing 3 or more scatters on the same spin. You’ll then receive 10 free spins with Mystery Reels. These Mystery Reels appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 and are made up fully of ? Symbols which then transform into the same matching symbol.

The number of Mystery Reels in play depends on the number of scatters from the triggering spin. Land 3, 4 or 5 scatters and you’ll get 1, 2 or 3 Mystery Reels. Land a scatter during the feature and 1 extra free spin is added to your total. If the Win Booster feature is active then you trigger the game, the Mystery Reels will only feature high value symbols or wilds.

The steampunk visuals in Fortunium are very well done and look especially impressive if playing on a mobile device. The gameplay offers something a little different too courtesy of the transforming symbols. As far as volatility goes, we’re in the medium range with top payouts of 800 times your stake on each spin.
Fortunium is an enjoyable slot game - we don’t see the steampunk theme all that often but it works well here and is worth a look if you enjoy the mechanical theme. I also recommend you try Steam Tower from Net Entertainment which is higher variance.
