Raven’s Eye Slot

Mystery symbols are central to the action in Raven’s Eye, a 5 reel, 30 payline slot game from Thunderkick. All Raven symbols that land transform into the same matching symbol. Land them on 3 or more reels on the same spin to trigger the Bonus Game feature where collecting orbs adds extra free spins and more mystery symbols to your total. Play from between 10p and £100 per spin.

As usual for a Thunderkick slot game, the design in Raven’s Eye is very high spec. The 5x4 reel grid is set within the walls of a castle outbuilding. There you’ll find Olde Worlde style A to 10 royal values alongside 4 brightly coloured shimmering orbs. The best of the standard symbols is the mysterious hooded woman (the Druid). Land 3, 4 or 5 of her in combination and you’ll receive an award of 1, 2 or 12.5 times your stake. Those same amounts are on offer from the golden W which is the wild. This replaces all of the standard symbols.

The black raven symbol has some magical properties. Every time these hit, they transform into the same matching symbol and a new payout calculation follows. This is known as the Raven Mystery Symbols feature.

Hope to see ravens on 3 or more reels on the same spin as this triggers the Bonus Game feature. You’ll then receive a minimum of 9 free spins. Look out here for special orbs which appear attached to the Raven. Every time 1 of these hits, it’s collected in a meter. Fill a symbol’s meter and it turns into a standard symbol into a transforming Mystery Symbol for the rest of the feature. It also adds 3 extra free spins to your total.

There’s a middle age feel to the design in Raven’s Eye which is superbly well done as usual for a Thunderkick slot game. It’s not overloaded with extras but there’s enough going on to keep things interesting. The transforming raven can move things along nicely in the base game.

Collect enough orbs during the Bonus Game feature to turn multiple symbols into transformers and some big results are possible – up to 1,761 times your stake. We found the Bonus Game feature to be pretty volatile though. There were times where we pocketed less than 6 times our stake. On other occasions we hit it rather nicely. Overall, the variance is in the middle.

The theme here has a hint of Game of Thrones about it (the mediaeval style imagery and the mysterious ravens a la Bran Stark). The limited gameplay means it won’t be for everyone. If you like simple action that’s very easy on the senses, then Raven’s Eye delivers precisely that. I would also recommend you play Midas Golden Touch (by Thunderkick) which offers wins of up to 10,100 times your stake on each spin.
