As usual for a Quickspin slot game, plenty of effort has been put into the design of Sticky Bandits: Wild Return. With a saloon bar in the background, you’ll see A to J symbols as well as boxes of cigars, glasses of bourbon and the 3 bandits. The best of the trio is the cigar-chomping cowgirl who’ll get you 0.75, 1.5 or 10 times your stake if you land 3, 4 or 5 on 1 of the game’s 40 paylines.
Known as the Massive Symbols feature, the 3 bandit symbols can appear as singles or in colossal 2x2 and 3x3 formation. Those same payouts are on offer from the wild which replaces all the standard symbols. There are 2 other features on offer in Sticky Bandits: Wild Return.
Quick Slot Bonus feature - land the one-armed bandit symbol on reel 5 to trigger this round. You’ll then receive 1, 2 or 3 spins on a special set of mini reels. These offer payouts of between 4 and 500 times your stake per spin if you land 3 matching symbols.
Lucky Shot Free Spins Bonus feature - to activate this round, you’ll need to land 3 scatters on the same spin. Your reward is 7 free spins. Every time a bandit symbols lands during the free spins, a shot is fired at the reels. If it hits a standard symbol, it turns into a wild. If the shot hits a standard wild, it turns into a sticky wild and locks in position for the rest of the round.
This sequel is very nicely done. The visuals have a classy look to them and there’s some classic Americana playing in the background while you spin. The features impress too. The Quick Slot Bonus feature is a nice addition and the Free Spins feature offers some solid potential courtesy of the colossal symbols and sticky wilds – there’s up to 1,145 times your stake to be won.
Put all that together and Sticky Bandits: Wild Return becomes a very playable take on the classic western theme. For more volatile cowboys, Dead or Alive II (by Net Entertainment) or The Wild 3 (by NextGen Gaming) are my 2 favourites.
