The design in The Wild 3 is excellent. With a dusty desert town in the background, you’ll a selection of cactus plants, sticks of dynamite, sacks of cash, gold bars, safes and banks spinning around the reels. The best of the standard symbols is a baddie character known as Voltimer Vulture who’ll get you 2, 5 or 25 times your stake if you land 3, 4 or 5 on a payline.
Central to the action are the Racoon, Coyote and Bull symbols. All 3 of these are wild and deliver a special extra when they hit on the middle reel. The Racoon is active at standard stakes. You’ll have to up those stakes to 15 or 20 coins and play in SuperBet Mode to bring the Wild Coyote and Wild Bull symbols into play:
- Wild Racoon feature - this can transform a random assortment of non-wild symbols into wilds.
- Wild Coyote feature - the 3 lower value cactus symbols turn into wilds when this feature triggers.
- Wild Bull feature - any win that includes the Wild Bull on reel 3 receive a random multiplier boost of 2x, 3x, 5x or 10x.
There are more extras on offer here too. You have the Lock ‘N’ Load Respins feature which becomes active when the Bonus symbol lands on reels 2 and 4 on the same spin. The Bonus symbols are held and the middle reel respins up to 3 times. If a wild lands on those respins, you’ll trigger the Free Games feature.
Free Games feature - you can also trigger this round by landing 2 Bonus symbols and a wild on the same spin in the base game. Your reward here is 5 free spins with sticky wilds (apart from Racoon or Coyote wilds that land on reel 3). Every time a held wild or scatter hits, 1 extra free spin is added to your total. The 3 wild features can also come into play meaning you could get random wilds, cactus symbols turning into wilds and wild multipliers up to 10x!
The Wild 3 also comes with a series of challenges. If you complete the set 3 challenges, you’ll go on to play the Rob the Rich Feature. You’ll then be shown a selection of 15 money bags behind which lie instant win prizes, a mystery symbols or +2 picks. Land a mystery symbol and you’ll win a prize of between 5 and 100 times your stake. You’ll have 3 picks to start with.
We really liked this Wild West adventure. The visuals are terrific and the modern take on the classic spaghetti western soundtrack is very nicely done. The range of extras on offer in the gameplay impresses too. If you like plenty of variety from your features, then you won’t be disappointed here.
Be warned though, this is an extremely high variance game but does offer payouts of 25,020 times your stake on each spin! If you can cope with the super volatile gameplay, then The Wild 3 can serve up plenty of action and excitement. If you want volatile Wild West slot games, Net Entertainment’s Dead or Alive should do the trick.
