Dragon Kingdom is packed full of features. Chief among them is the Dragon Split feature which is triggered when the dragon egg split symbol appears on reel 5. The egg will hatch to reveal a dragon who will breathe fire on to the last symbol in any winning payline and turn it into not one but two wilds. This means that instead of the usual five symbol payouts it's possible to create six symbol combinations.
These can be extremely lucrative. Find a six symbol combination of dragon wilds and you'll pocket an eye-popping payout of 25,000 times your line bet! The Warrior offers up to 4,000 times stake with his female sidekick paying 3,000. The magic potions offer 2,500.
The other major feature is the Free Games with Dynamic Multiplier feature. Triggered when 3 or more scatters appear anywhere on the reels, you'll be awarded 15 free spins starting with a randomly selected 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x multiplier. Every time you have a win during the free spins, the multiplier will go up by one. A winless spin will see the multiplier drop by one.
The multiplier can't drop below 2x at any stage though. It's possible to trigger more free spins during the feature if three or more scatters hit. The scatter serves as an extra wild during the free games, further boosting the chances of a win. It's also possible to hit the Dragon Split Feature during the free spins too.
Dragon Kingdom has the visuals to match its exciting features. The brightly coloured warriors and dragons that fill the reels are well drawn and perfectly clear against the dark mountain backdrop. It's all set off by a stirring, adventure movie style soundtrack.
As impressive as the graphics and animations are, Dragon Kingdom is all about the features. The split wilds appear on a regular basis offering plenty of extra opportunities to bag a win. The free spins are harder to come by but can be lucrative on the relatively rare occasions they do hit. The payouts are nicely balanced with variance in the medium range.
Dragon Kingdom uses the same game engine as the Marvel themed classic Blade so if you've played that, you'll have an idea of what to expect here. The Dragon theme is certainly good one. The visuals and features are both top drawer. I prefer Dragon Kingdom to Blade as it looks better and I prefer the theme but if you like dragons, Viking Vanguard by WMS is brilliant (and very volatile).
