Like most game in the Play ’N Go catalogue, the design in Sea Hunter is very nicely done. The ocean floor, complete with sunken treasure and an assortment of aquatic life form the backdrop to the reels. There you’ll find 8 different fishy symbols including goldfish, puffer fish, jelly fish, turtles and skates. The best of the standard symbols is the whale which awards 75 coins if you land 3 on a line. There’s also a wild, the depth charge, that offers awards of 125 coins as well as substituting for everything.
The game comes with a quartet of cannon power ups that are triggered by landing consecutive winning spins:
- Growth Gun feature - this is awarded after 2 successive wins. On the spin that follows, the cannon will fire at 1 symbol. This symbol, and any matching symbols, will all be upgraded to the next most valuable symbol. A new payout is then made.
- Sticky Shot feature - to trigger this, you’ll need to land 4 successive winning spins. All instances of 1 matching symbol are locked and a re-spin is awarded. These keep on coming as long as a new matching symbol joins the cluster.
- Wild Warhead feature - 5 wins are required to activate the Wild Warhead. One the next spin, between 1 and 3 wilds will be randomly added to the reels.
- Multiply Mortar feature - land 6 successive winners and your reward will be 1 guaranteed win spin. The cannons shoot at the reels to reveal a multiplier which can boost that win by up to 15x.
The waters here look pretty tranquil but don’t be fooled. This is an extremely volatile game and the variance is very high. And when we say high we mean 10/10 high. Expect lengthy spells when you bankroll will sink without trace to the bottom of the ocean. Get on a winning run and the power ups can deliver some explosive action – up to 920 times your stake on each spin!
