The design in Perfect Gems is simply done. With shelves full of dusty tomes in the background, you’ll see A to 9 royals as well as a quartet of more rewarding gemstone symbols. The most lucrative of the 4 is the blue jewel. Land 6 of these in combination and you can look forward to a payout of 25 times your stake.
The setup is slightly unusual in that reels 1 and 6 are fixed at 3 symbols high while the reels in between can alter in size. At their maximum they can feature 7 symbols. If everything reaches its maximum size, you’ll be spinning on reels that offer 21,609 different ways to win.
Those expanded central reels are created by landing matching symbols on a vertical reel and on the horizontal reel above. The symbol then divides into 2 and increases the number of payways. Look out too for the wild that can appear on the horizontal reel and split all of the standard symbols (but not the scatter) into 2.
Cascading reels means that winning symbols are removed from play and a replaced by a new set of symbols from above. Each successive symbol drop win increases a multiplier by 1x in the Win Multiplier feature. In the base game, a winless cascade resets the multiplier back to its starting point of 1x.
The main feature in Perfect Gems is the Perfect Spins feature. It’s triggered by landing 3, 4, 5 or 6 of the perfect gems scatter on the same spin. You’ll then go on to play 9, 15, 21 or 27 free spins. If you trigger the free spins in the middle of a series of cascades, any multiplier from the triggering spin is carried over as the starting multiplier in the free spins.
Each cascade win landed during the free spins also increases the multiplier by 1x. Better still, the multiplier doesn’t reset following a losing cascade.
