The design in Chicken Fox is simply done. The action takes place in a barn full of cash. On the reels you’ll see A to 10 royal values plus 4 different chicken symbols. You can land any combination of these chickens to create a winning line.
The chickens are joined by a goat and a pig. The most rewarding of the standard symbols is the tractor which pays 13.33 times your stake if you land 5 on a payline.
The game comes with a pair of wild symbols. The fox only substitutes for the 4 chicken symbols. The farmer’s wife, brandishing a tasty looking pie, is the other wild. This can replace everything apart from the scatter. Land 3, 4 or 5 of these on a line and you’ll win a bumper payout of some 13.33, 33.33 or 166.67 times your stake.
The golden egg is the scatter. Land 3, 4 or 5 of these on the same spin and you’ll pocket an award of 2, 10 or 100 times your total stake. You’ll also trigger the Free Games feature and with it, 8, 15 or 30 free spins. This round is a little unusual in that the reels are made up of blank, chicken, egg and fox symbols.
The chicken symbols come with a cash value attached. This starts at 1.66 times your stake for the smallest chick but can reach up to 33.33 times your stake for the rooster. To create a winner, you’ll need to land a fox on the same free spin as a chicken. All the attached prizes attached to the chickens are awarded when this happens.
It’s even better if you see a double fox. This doubles the awards (2x multiplier) from any chicken symbols on display on that free spin. Land an egg alongside a fox and up to 5 free spins will be added to your tally. With the double fox, each egg can award up to 10 extra free spins.
Chicken Fox is a very straightforward game, especially in the base game. It can spark into life in the Free Games feature though. We found the feature to be a bit of a feast or famine affair. If the fox runs riot in the chicken coop, some big awards are possible – up to 13,500 times your stake per free spin with the 2x multiplier.
