Head to the Castle
The reels are set against the backdrop of a castle wall. On the reels are heart, diamond, club and spade symbols as well as a gargoyle, a cup of blood, a raven, skull and candles and a castle. The top standard symbol is the red rose. Land 3, 4 or 5 of these in combination for a payout of 25, 50 or 250 coins.
Expanding Wilds, Expanding Reels
The base game action takes place on a 5 reel, 5 row machine which offers 50 paylines. When the swarm of bats wild lands, it transforms into a female vampire and expands to fill the whole reel. The gates open on the top half of the screen to bring another 5 rows and 50 paylines into play. This is called the Mighty Reels feature.
Vamp It Up Bonus feature
The first extra is only available if you’re playing at stakes of £2 per spin or above. To activate it, click on the tab in the top right corner of the screen. Then every time you land a winner of 2.5 times your stake or more, you’ll bring the Vamp It Up Bonus Wheel into play. This awards multipliers of between 1x and 5x or triggers the Lock It Link feature. An amended paytable is in play if you have the Vamp It Up Bonus active. Symbol payouts are half the standard rate. Of course, you can boost them with the potential multipliers.
Lock It Link feature
The Lock It Link feature is triggered via the Vamp It Up wheel or by landing 3 red heart symbols in the same horizontal line. The hearts are locked in position, turn gold and come with multipliers attached. The reels, which are made up of blanks, red and blue hearts then spin again 3 times. Hope to land hearts next to the gold as they will link up, become active and award bigger prizes.
3 vertical or horizontal hearts form a link and turn gold and their multipliers become active. If a red heart joins a link, you’ll get 3 more respins. A blue heart resets to the respins to 4 as well as opening up the upper set of reels. At the end of the round, the active multiplier prizes are added together for your final award.
A Little Underwhelming
A combination of horror and romance should get the pulse racing. Vampire Desire didn’t really do that for us. We found the Vamp It Up and Lock It Link Bonus features quite hard to come by. They were pretty hit and miss when they did appear too. If you like the horror theme, there are much better alternatives out there – such as Immortal Romance from Microgaming.
