Winfall Slot

Winfall is a simple, gemstone-themed slot game from Bally. Winning combinations in this 5 reel, 23 payline game are created by landing 3, 4 or 5 matching symbols in a line either vertically or horizontally. Winning combinations lead to cascading reel symbol drops. Get on a roll there to trigger the Double Diamonds spin the wheel bonus. Play on all devices from between 10p and £500 per spin.

The set up in Winfall is very straightforward. On the reels you’ll see 5 brightly coloured gemstone symbols. Land 3 or more of these in a straight line either vertically or horizontally to create a winning combination. The best paying symbol is the yellow gem. Land 3, 4 or 5 of these on a payline and you’ll win an award of 4, 8 or 50 times your total stake.

The cascading reels game engine is in play here. Following a successful spin, the winning symbols are removed from the reels and new symbols drop in and replace them. If this leads to another winner, the process is repeated. The cascades keep on coming as long as a new winner is landed. Each cascade win also lights up an arrow to the left of the reels. If you manage to land 6 cascading reels in a row, you’ll light up all the arrows and trigger the game’s only feature.

The Double Diamonds feature is a spin the wheel feature. You’ll be shown a wheel made up of 16 different segments. 12 of them will contain a cash value. The other 4 contain a 2x. If the pointer stops on a cash value, that’s the prize that you’ll win. If you land a x2, all of the cash values on the wheel are doubled and you’ll spin again.

Winfall is a pretty basic offering. The visuals are typical Bally and not exactly from the top drawer. And what were they thinking with the slapstick soundtrack that is completely out of kilter with the theme. The gameplay is just as simple as the visuals. We found it pretty spicy on the variance front going through some lengthy winless spells. A good run of cascades can get the coins flowing though and the Double Diamonds feature offers some decent potential.

This jewel-themed slot game didn’t really dazzle. The gameplay and design was a little too vanilla for our tastes. If you like the cascading reels game engine, then it’s worth a look. It’s not a slot game we’ll be rushing back to though. I would rather play Gonzo’s Quest from Net Entertainment or Journey of the Gods by Blueprint Gaming.
