Queen of the Castle Slot

Pay homage to her majesty in Queen of the Castle, a royal-themed slot game from NextGen Gaming. Played using an unusual 5 reel, 576 ways to win game engine, it comes with locked reels, transforming symbols and a free spins round that’s played on an expanding game engine. Play on all devices from between 40p and £20 per spin.

There’s a light hearted, cartoon feel to the design in Queen of the Castle - the reels are set within a castle and include lower value playing cards and gemstones as well as a throne, money pouch full of coins as well as a corgi and the Queen of the Castle banner. The queen is the wild and spins in stacked formation. There are plenty of extras on offer here.

Locked Reels feature - these can trigger on any spin. Vines will lock the middle 3 reels which will all display the same symbol on adjacent reels.

Red Chest Mystery Reveal feature - this is triggered by landing a full stack of red treasure chest symbols on reel 1. Any A, K, Q or J symbols on the other 4 reels all turn into red treasure chests. These all transform into the same matching symbol and a new payout is made. If you land a partial stack of red treasure chests on reel 1 you could get a nudge which then triggers the feature.

Purple Chest Mystery Reveal feature - this is very similar to the Red Chest Mystery Reveal feature. This time it’s triggered by landing a stack of purple chests on reel 5. The gemstone symbols then transform into chests. They will then turn into 1 of the corgi, throne, money pouch or banner symbols and a new payout is made. The partial stack nudges are in play here too.

Free Games feature - land 3 scatters and you’ll receive 14 free spins. During this feature, the scatters are replaced by crowns. Every time a crown lands, it’s collected in a meter. As the meter fills, you’ll be awarded more free spins which are played out on an expanded game engine.

There are 4 levels here - reach that top level and you’ll get up to 6 extra free spins which are played out on a mammoth 3,087 ways to win machine. You can’t re-trigger the feature but you can land the mystery chest extras from within the free spins for even bigger wins.

There’s a jolly feel to Queen of the Castle. The sound and visuals are simply done but work well and there’s plenty of variety in the gameplay. If you fancy some regal entertainment, then her majesty offer just that. I also suggest you try Black Knight II by WMS which is more volatile.
