Giant Grizzly: Take in the scenery
The design in Giant Grizzly is impressively done. With a log cabin, totem pole and a lush green forest in the background, you’ll see stone-style A to 10 symbols as well as an assortment of flora and fauna. The moose is the best payer, awarding 2.5, 10 or 25 times your stake if you land 3, 4 or 5 on adjoining reels.
Giant Grizzly: Unusual game engine
The reels are set up in a 4x3x3x3x4 row formation. Those middle 3 reels can be highlighted on any spin. This can bring a couple of wild extras into play.
Giant Grizzly: Expanding Grizzly Wilds
If a reel is highlighted and an Expanding Wild symbols lands, the wild will fill the whole of that reel. Better still is if you land Expanding Wilds on adjacent reels. The Grizzly can then expand into a 1x3, 2x2, 2x3 or even a 3x3 formation. A payout calculation is made with the oversized wilds active.
Giant Grizzly: Actions Grizzly Wilds
You’ll notice that some standard symbols come with cash values attached. Land an Action Wild on a highlighted reel and you’ll win the cash value attached to the standard symbol as an instant bonus prize. This is known as the Action Grizzly Wilds feature.
Giant Grizzly: Grizzly Free Games feature
The paw print is the scatter. Land 3, 4 or 5 of these on the same spin and you’ll trigger the Grizzly Free Games feature where you’ll receive 5, 10 or 15 free spins on cascading reels. Land a winner and the symbols are removed and new ones drop in and replace them to offer another chance to create a winner. These continue until no new winning combination hits.
Giant Grizzly: Rampage Wilds
Joining the action in the Grizzly Free Games feature are Rampage Wilds which replace the Expanding and Grizzly Wilds. If these land behind a highlighted area on the middle 3 reels, they scoop up any cash prizes as well as expanding to fill the whole of the reel. Up to 3 retriggers are possible too meaning up to 60 free spins can be won.
Giant Grizzly: Wild action?
We found the design in Giant Grizzly to be very well done. It looks superb and the orchestral score is a nice fit. The gameplay is a little unusual thanks to the extras on offer from the highlighted areas. We found the action to be rather hit and miss in the Grizzly Free Games feature. Saying that, you can win 10,800 times your stake from each spin if you manage to fill the reels with wilds! If you’re not really an outdoorsy type but fancy getting close to nature, then Giant Grizzly is a decent enough place to start.
