Like most slot games in the Yggdrasil Gaming catalogue, the design here is very high end. The visuals are done 3D style and are full of classic Egyptian imagery. If the visuals have a familiar look, the features are a little unusual. Central to the action is the Twister feature.
This is triggered by landing 2 or more wilds on the same spin. Tut will choose 1 of the wilds from the triggering spin and turn it into a stacked twister wild - respins then follow. The twister wild pulls the other wilds from the triggering spin towards it. If you’re lucky enough to see 3 walking wilds during the Twister feature, a 2x multiplier is awarded for the rest of the round. Each subsequent 3 wilds boost this multiplier by 1.
The re-pins continue as long as at least 1 wild is walking. When this part is finished, a ‘last chance’ respin is awarded. If no wilds are landed, all the walking wilds are blasted out from the twister and placed randomly on the reels. A final payout calculation is made, complete with any multipliers acquired.
The second feature is the Twister Collections feature - above the reels you’ll see a selection of hieroglyph meters. When a wild lands, it transforms into a random hieroglyph and fills a space on the associated meter.
Once a meter is filled, the single wild from the triggering spin turns into a twister as the reels respin. During the first respin, each hieroglyphic symbol from the triggering reel is randomly shot onto the reels. These wilds count towards a multiplier of at least 2. Any extra 3 wilds that land also count towards the multiplier. The respins then continue just as in the Twister feature.
The bonus features here are certainly unusual. The stacked wilds, walking wilds and multipliers can combine to excellent effect though. The overall variance is in the medium to high range with top wins of 1,000 times stake on each spin/respin.
The ancient Egypt-themed slot game has been done to death. Yggdrasil Gaming has created something different in Tut’s Twister though. With top notch visuals and some innovative extras, this desert trek is certainly worth making. If you like Yggdrasil Gaming, I recommend you try the superb Gem Rocks which can offer explosive wins.
