Ozwin’s Jackpots Slot

Overturning an ancient curse and in the process collecting some wondrous winnings is the goal in Ozwin’s Jackpots, a magic-themed slot game from Yggdrasil Gaming. It comes with a free spins round where all payouts are trebled, a pick me feature and 5 potential jackpot prizes. Play across all devices from between 20p and £40 per spin.

The back story here is that a curse has been placed on Ozwin the wizard who has been turned into an owl. His trusty apprentice is trying to turn him back into a human and in the process, conjure up some big payouts he tries. Yggdrasil Gaming titles usually feature high-end design and this one is superb.

The reels include playing card suit symbols alongside a bottle of potion, a compass, the magician’s assistant and Ozwin the owl. Land 3, 4 or 5 of the latter for a payout of 70, 250 or 4,000 coins. Ozwin’s Jackpots comes with a pair of bonus features:

Jackpot Free Spins feature - there are 2 ways to trigger this feature. Land 3, 4 or 5 of the blue orb and you’ll be awarded 10 free spins (trigger with 4 or 5 orbs and you’ll get a 50 or 500 times stake bonus too). The same number of free spins are on offer if you collect 5 of the same colour crystal in the other feature (more info below). All payouts in the free spins are boosted by a 3x multiplier and trebled.

Look out for the coloured orbs which appear during the feature - every time they land during the round, a spot on the associated jackpot meter above the reel is lit. Light up all 5 spots and you’ll win the Novice, Apprentice, Mystic, Wizard or Archmage jackpot.

Spellbook Bonus Game feature - land 3, 4 or 5 spellbook scatters to trigger this pick me style round. Again, prizes of 50 or 500 times your stake are on offer if you land 4 or 5 on the triggering spin. You’ll then be offered a choice of spellbooks. Behind each 1 is a prize of up to 50 times your stake, a crystal to add to your collection or an evil spell. Keep on picking until the evil spell is unleashed.

There’s plenty to like about this fantasy adventure. As we’ve already mentioned, the design here is terrific. The visuals are as high-end as you’ll find anywhere and the sweeping orchestral score could come straight out of a movie.

There’s plenty to consider on the gameplay front too. We landed both bonus features at regular intervals - we’d put the variance in the middle with maximum wins of 1,200 times your stake on non-jackpot wins. Ozwin’s Jackpots is a very entertaining slot game. Combining stunning sound and imagery with some quality extras, this is a fantastical journey well worth taking. If you like the theme, Dragon Champions by Playtech is a superb choice.
