Brazil Bomba Slot Review

Get ready to party Rio style in Brazil Bomba. This carnival-themed slot has been created by Yggdrasil Gaming and is played using a 6 reel, cluster pays game engine. Highlights of this samba extravaganza include dropdown wins with expanding multipliers, bombs which clear out a star shaped cluster and up to 40 free spins with even more expanding multipliers. Play on all devices from between 10p and £50 per spin.

Head to Rio de Janeiro

A beautiful beach at night with the mighty Sugarloaf Mountain in the background (in Rio de Janeiro) is the setting for Brazil Bomba. Watched over by a dancing carnival queen, the 6x8 grid is made up of 12 brightly designed shapes, objects and fireworks.

Cluster pays with Dropdown Wins

Winning combinations are created by landing 6 or more matching symbols vertically, horizontally or diagonally. After a winning combination lands, the symbols are removed and new ones drop in and replace them. The dropdowns continue until no new winning combination is formed. The most rewarding symbol is the red firework. Land 6 in combination for a payout of 2 x your total stake. A full cluster of 48 red firework symbols awards 1,000 x your stake.

Increasing multiplier

Each dropdown win also increases a multiplier by 1x – called the Multiplier feature. After a winless drop in the base game, it reverts to its original 1x. You can keep track of the multiplier in the meter to the right of the reels.

Bomb feature

Joining the standard symbols is the bomb. This can land on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. When it hits, it explodes and clears up to 16 symbols in a star formation. A new dropdown follows and a new payout calculation is made. This is called the Bomb feature and occurs fairly frequently.

Free spins with bigger multipliers

Land 3, 4, 5 or 6 of the Free Spins symbol to trigger the Free Spins feature. You’ll then receive 5, 10, 15 or 20 free spins. Multipliers increases with each dropdown win during the free spins. Unlike in the base game, they don’t go back to 1x following a winless drop. Instead, they only keep rising. If you have a multiplier active on the triggering spin, it’s carried over to the free spins.

Samba party

This Brazilian carnival is nicely done. We’ve seen similar gameplay in plenty of other avalanche reels slots so it’s not massively original. The visuals impress though, as does the samba style backing track. However, it is Yggdrasil Gaming’s first grid slot and a good effort at that.

We found this to be a pretty volatile slot too – the most you can win is 8.975.6 x stake on every spin or free spin. The key to winning big is from the increasing multiplier. The RTP is 96.3% which is also good. If you like avalanche reel slots, then it’s a perfectly playable option – another option is NetEnt’s Gonzo’s Quest which is a cult favourite.
