Monopoly Grand Hotel Slot

Another game based on the ever-popular board game is Monopoly Grand Hotel. Created by WMS, it’s a 5 reel, 50 payline game that comes with a good range of extras. They include cash bonuses, free spins with extras as well as 4 potential jackpot prizes of between 10 and 1,000 times your total stake. Play on all devices from between 25p and £200 per spin.

The design here is bright and glossy. Backed by stacks of gold coins and cash, the blue reels feature A to J symbols plus familiar Monopoly tokens. They include dice, a ship, a plane and a sports car. The best paying symbols are the dog and the free parking car. Both of these pay 5 times your total stake if you land 5 on a payline.

Mr Monopoly is the wild. He can land on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 only and replace all of the standard symbols. Like the other slot game in this series, there are plenty of extras in Monopoly Grand Hotel.

Go feature - this is triggered by landing the Go symbol on reels 2, 3 and 4 on the same spin. You’ll then get 1 spin of the Go Reel. Depending on where the pointer lands, you’ll receive a cash prize of up to 20 times your stake, free spins with the Free Parking Bonus (more of which shortly), or the Mini, Minor, Major or Grand Jackpot of 10, 25, 100 or 1,000 times your stake.

Also spinning around the reels in the base game are green house and red hotel symbols. These come with cash values attached – up to 25 times your stake. Land 6 or more house and hotels on the same spin and you’ll trigger the Free Games feature. The combined amount from those houses and hotels on the triggering spin is paid out each time a Free Parking car hits during the feature.

For example, if the combined values of the houses and hotels totalled £10 then each Free Parking Car that hits during the free spins awards £10. It’s possible to re-trigger up to 15 more rounds of free spins here – this means up to 240 free spins theoretically.

We’ve found WMS’ other Monopoly-themed slot games to be real hit and miss affairs. Monopoly Grand Hotel is one of the better ones in the series. The design is as high spec as you’d expect and there’s a very decent array of features. As far as variance goes, we’re in the medium to high range. The key to winning big is by getting a big sum from the hotels and houses when triggering the Free Games feature – you can win £250,000 on each spin/free spin.

We enjoyed this slot game based on the classic board game. If you like the franchise, then a visit to the Monopoly Grand Hotel is recommended. I would also suggest you try Monopoly Millionaire (by sister company Bally) which offers you the chance to win £1 million.
