Wild Weather Slot

Wild Weather is a simple, meteorologically-themed slot game from Tom Horn Gaming. Played using a 5 reel, 18 payline, win both ways game engine, it comes with expanding wilds and a bonus round that awards 5, 10 or 15 free spins complete with expanding 2x2 wilds. Play on all devices from between 10p and £100 per spin.

There a minimalist look to the visuals in Wild Weather. Set against a simple, dark blue backdrop, you’ll see a selection of temperatures spinning around the reels. These are joined by the weather icons you’ll see on a forecast.  There are clouds and sunshine and cloud symbols that pay up to 10 times your total stake.

Next come the rain and snow symbols which award up to 15 times your total stake per payline. The best payer is the thundery showers symbol. Land 3, 4 or 5 of these and you’ll pocket a payout of 4, 10 or 20 times your stake. Winning combinations can start from both reel 1 and reel 5. Keep a special eye out for the tornado symbol which can land in the base game only. When this hits, it expands and turn the whole of the reel wild.

The sunshine symbol is the scatter. Land 3, 4 or 5 of these on the same spin and you’ll trigger the Free Spins feature - on offer are 5, 10 or 15 free spins. The tornado isn’t in play here. Instead look out for the sunshine symbol - when this appears, it expands to a 2x2 square with all 4 positions wild.

Wild Weather is a very simple game. The visuals are pretty basic but everything is neat and clear. It’s a similarly story with the gameplay. The expanding wilds help things tick along during the base game and the blocks of 2x2 wilds can have a decent impact when you trigger the free spins.

The symbols might show extremes of weather but that’s not really the case with the variance here. The volatility is in the medium range with maximum payouts of 360 times your stake on every spin/free spin. We found Wild Weather to be a pretty tepid affair. It’s simple and straightforward yes but maybe a little too vanilla for most tastes. I prefer to play Age of the Gods God of Storms from Playtech which features wind and the God of the Sea.
