Shaolin’s Tiger Slot

Shaolin’s Tiger is a superbly designed, simple to play, martial arts-themed slot game from Tom Horn Gaming. Played using a 5 reel, 9 payline game engine, it comes with a bonus round that awards up to 20 free spins complete with added wilds. Play on all devices from between 18p and £90 per spin.

Tom Horn Gaming has created a cracking looking game here. With a hill valley and Shaolin temple in the background, the deep red reels are set within a traditional pagoda style frame. The lower value royal values are embellished by bamboo. They’re joined by a throwing star which pays up to 27.78 times your stake per payline and nunchucks which award up to 55.56 times your stake.

The bearded master is the top paying standard symbol. Land 5 of him on a line and you’ll receive a payout of 111.11 times your stake. More lucrative still is the golden tiger which is the wild. This substitutes for all other symbols bar the 3 fighters and can hit anywhere on the reels. Land a 5 wild combination and you’ll pocket a 555.56 times your stake payout.

The fighter scatters appear on reels 1, 3 and 5. When they all land on the same spin you’ll trigger the game’s Free Spins feature. Once triggered you can look forward to 10 free spins. Any fighter scatter that lands during the feature becomes an extra wild. Land the 3 scatters on the same spin and you’ll get another round of 10 free spins.

That’s it as far as gameplay goes. Shaolin’s Tiger is a very straightforward game. It looks and sounds superb. The visuals are high-end and the backing track is a perfect fit for the very traditional martial arts theme.

Despite the feisty theme, Shaolin’s Tiger isn’t a volatile game at all. The variance is low so expect plenty of play for your investment. It’s certainly not the flashiest Asian-themed slot game you’ll see in terms of gameplay. The top spec design and simple features makes a visit to Shaolin’s Temple worth making though. If you want something more volatile, I suggest you try Sky Barons – also by Tom Horn Gaming.
