Wolves! Wolves! Wolves! Slot

The wilds of America rather than Molineux is the setting for Wolves! Wolves! Wolves! It’s an unusual 5 reel, 40 payline slot game that doesn’t come with much in the way of traditional bonus rounds but does deliver an expanding game machine that can randomly offer up to 100 paylines with expanding wilds. Play on all devices from between 20p and £1,000 per spin.

A wintry wilderness forms the backdrop to the action here - on the purple reels you’ll see heart, diamond, club and spade symbols alongside a wigwam, tomahawk axes, an eagle and a horse. The best paying symbol is the howling wolf of the game’s title. This can spin in stacks that are 2, 3, 4 or 5 symbols high. Land 5 of them on a payline and you’ll pocket 37.5 times your stake.

The best paying symbol is the Native American totem which is the game’s wild. It substitutes for all other symbols and offers payouts of 75 times your stake if you land 5 in combination. There aren’t any free spins or other usual bonuses on offer here. The only extra is the Mystic Totem feature.

This can strike at random on any spin and add extra rows to the game machine. Each extra row adds another 10 paylines. Once a reel starts to grow, it will carry on doing so for up to 3 spins. If the reels reach their maximum height, you’ll play on a machine that is 9 rows high and that offers 100 rather than the standard 40 paylines.

Look out too for the wilds during the expansions. They expand and turn the whole of the reel wild. You can land multiple wilds on the same spin which can lead to some potentially spectacular results – up to 3,750 times your stake on each spin with 100 paylines!

Wolves! Wolves! Wolves! is a simple game. The design is functional rather than flashy and the gameplay is pretty basic. If you want a good range of extras then look elsewhere – such as Turning Totems from Thunderkick or Wild Hunter from Playson.

The expanding reels offers some decent potential, especially in combination with the expanding wilds. We found the action here a little dull though. It’s solid enough but these Wolves! Wolves! Wolves! didn’t leave us howling with delight.
