The Flash Slot

Based on the DC comic book character, The Flash is another superhero themed slot game from Playtech. It’s a 5 reel, 50 payline game that comes with some top extras as well as offering a chance to land a progressive jackpot prize. Look out for extra wilds that can hit on each spin and a free spins battle bonus. Play on all devices from between 50p and £500 per spin.

There’s a crisp, almost minimalist look to the design in The Flash. The reels feature A to 9 symbols alongside a collection of comic book characters. They’re joined by The Flash and Reverse Flash logos. Land 2, 3, 4 or 5 of The Flash logo and you’ll receive a payout of 0.1, 2, 10 or 40 times your stake. The reverse and standard Flash logos can combine to create a winning combination which pays up to 8 times your stake. There are a number of extras to take note of here.

Random Wilds feature - on any spin, an animated Flash can race across the reels and turn a random selection of symbols wild. A payout calculation then follows with the new wilds in place. These wilds can hit on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 only.

Battle feature - this round is triggered by landing 5 scatters on the same spin. First choose who you think will win the battle, The Flash or Reverse Flash. Above the reels you’ll see 5 cash values which can offer payouts of up to 100 times your stake.

Land a Flash logo symbol on reel 2 and the highlighted bonus prize above the reels is won by The Flash. If the Reverse Flash logo lands on reels 4, its Reverse Flash who claims the lit prize.

The free spins continue until The Flash or Reverse Flash have claimed all 5 awards. If your chosen character has won 3 of the prizes, you’ll in fact claim all of them. If your character wins 2 or less of the Bonus prizes, you pocket only the prizes he has won. These bonus prizes come on top of any standard free spin wins.

DC Super Heroes Jackpot feature - The Flash is part of the DC Super Heroes Jackpot network. This round can trigger at random on any spin. Pick from the 20 icons to reveal a green, blue, yellow or red icon. The first coloured meter filled determines which prize you’ll win. It’s the red Grand Jackpot that can deliver the megabucks payouts!

The Flash is pretty streamlined for a branded jackpot slot game. The comic books visuals are neatly done and the catchy soundtrack bounces along nicely. The gameplay is also rather straightforward. The Battle feature sounds more complicated than it really is and can deliver some solid action via the bonus prizes. Expect to see the added wilds regularly too. There’s up to 2,000 times your stake to be won from each spin/free spin.

We were expecting something a little more, well flashy, when we fired up The Flash. Simplicity works well here though, both in terms of design and features which makes this an entertaining addition to the DC Super Heroes collection. Saying that, I would rather play Wonder Woman or Suicide Squad which look better and have more on the feature front.
