The visuals here are bright, colourful and in your face. With the verdant rainforest in the background, you’ll see A to 9 royals alongside a red flower, a butterfly, a lizard and a toucan. The best of the standard symbols is the big cat which pays 5, 10 or 20 times your stake if you land 3, 4 or 5 in combination. Appearing on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 only is the gorilla which is the game’s wild. The gorilla is central to both of the game’s 2 features.
Savage Wild feature - on the top right-hand corner of the screen you’ll see a figure. This can start at anything from between 10 and 50. This figure counts down by 1 with each spin. Each time a wild gorilla lands, it leaves a leaf on that symbol position. This also equates to a multiplier. Land more than 1 wild in that position and the number of leaves increases by 1, as does the multiplier.
When the countdown reaches 1, the Savage Wild feature activates. All the symbol positions that contain a leaf then turn into wilds and a new payout calculation is made, boosted by any multipliers that are on show. Once the payout is made, the wilds and leaves are cleared and the Savage Wild countdown meter is reset to a new starting figure.
Free Games feature - this round is triggered by landing 3 or more scatters on the same spin. After a payout of 1, 5 or 10 times your stake, you’ll go on to play 10 free spins. Any wild that lands locks in place for the rest of the feature. Land a wild on a sticky wild and it receives a 1x multiplier boost. Landing 3 scatters on the same free spin adds another 5 free spins to your total – with no limits.
There’s a slightly primitive look to the design here but that’s what you’d expect from a slot game called Savage Jungle. Those visuals work well enough though. The Savage Wild countdown is an unusual feature. It can deliver some decent results though. As can the free spins round complete with sticky wilds and multipliers.
It’s certainly not the most sophisticated slot game you’ll see but for some rugged wild adventure, you’ll do okay taking a trip to the Savage Jungle – you can win 2,500 times your stake on each spin or free spin too. If you want a jungle adventure, Net Entertainment’s Jungle Spirit: Call of the Wild is my pick.
