The design in Ride The Tiger is rather nicely done. The backdrop features a drawing of a traditional rural Chinese scene. The reels are set within a scroll. The lower value royal values are joined by a collection of golden animal symbols. The monkey and the tortoise offer payouts of up to 8 times your total stake per payline with the fish and the bird awarding up to 10 times your bet.
The best symbol is the roaring tiger. This spins in a fully stacked formation on all 5 reels. Land 5 of them on the same payline and you’ll receive a payout of 20 times your total stake. The black and white yin and yang symbol is the wild. It can land anywhere apart from reel 1 and substitutes for everything bar the scatter.
Land 3 of that scatter (the red gemstone) and you’ll trigger the Free Spins feature as well as receiving a payout equal to 4 times your stake. You’ll be awarded 10 free spins. Ride The Tiger is a simple game. We found it to be medium variance. The Free Spins feature isn’t the easiest to land but the potential on offer from the extra wilds that are added after each free spin make it well worth the wait. It makes it much easier to win the maximum 1,000 times your stake payout on each free spin.
There’s nothing too flashy about Ride The Tiger. The visuals are well put together and the backing track is catchy (even if it doesn’t really match the theme). The gameplay is similarly straightforward. If you’re after a basic Asian-style adventure then Ride The Tiger offers just that. If you like the striped cat, Exotic Cats from Microgaming and Tiger Claw from Playtech are worth playing.
