With a haunted house in the background, you’ll see heart, diamond, club and spade symbols alongside a scarecrow with a stitched up face and a smiling witch. The best paying symbol is the witch on her broomstick. Land 3, 4 or 5 of these on the same payline and you’ll win 5, 20 or 50 times your stake.
The gameplay in Pumpkin Bonanza is a little unusual. The game centres on the Pumpkin Wilds - these come into life if there’s the potential for a win from both right to left as well as the more usual left to right. All potential winning symbols on reel 3 then turn into pumpkin wilds.
For example, if you have matching heart symbols on reels 1 and 2 and matching spade symbols on reels 4 and 5 you could have wins from both ways if the right combination lands on the middle reel. The middle reel would then turn wild to deliver both winning combinations.
If you do land a win in both directions, then you will trigger the Bonanza Spin feature - all the winning symbols from the triggering spin on reels 2, 3 and 4 become pumpkin wilds. You then get a free respin with the potential for wild symbols landing on reels 1 and 5.
The wild extras in Pumpkin Bonanza offer something a little different. It took us a while to get used to them so some spins in demo mode are recommended until you get your eye in. You won’t find a huge range of extras here. All the action centres on the win both ways wilds. If you’re looking for more traditional features, then you won’t find them here.
What you will find is classy visuals and a really creepy backing track. The simple but rather unusual gameplay won’t be to all tastes. Potential payouts of 2,000 times your total stake from a single spin make Pumpkin Bonanza worth investigating though.
