Playtech’s take on this classic theme is very easy on the senses. The reels are set against a desert backdrop filled with pyramids and palm trees. Joining the lower value royal symbols are an ankh cross, the cat god Bastet and the eye of Ra. The top paying standard symbol is the scarab beetle which awards 3 times your stake if you land 5 on 1 of the game’s 50 paylines.
The Egyptian queen is the wild. She replaces all of the standard symbols. The wild can hit on 2, 3, 4 and 5 in the base game. Pharaoh’s Daughter comes with 2 features.
Free Games feature - this round is triggered by landing 3, 4 or 5 of the pyramids scatter on the same spin. After a payout of 1, 10 or 50 times your stake, you’ll receive 8 free spins. A wandering reel that’s filled with wilds or sun bonus symbols is in play on each free spin. Land 3 scatters for a re-trigger. Wilds are in play on all 5 reels during the free spins round.
Fire Blaze Respin feature - land 6 or more of the sun bonus symbol to activate this streak respin round. Each sun symbol comes with a cash value or a jackpot symbol attached. The suns from the triggering spin are held and you’ll be awarded 3 respins. If a new sun symbol lands, the respins reset to 3.
When you’re out of respins, the values shown on the sun symbols are combined and that’s the prize you’ll win. The Mini, Minor or Major sun symbols award their associated jackpot of 20, 100 or 500 times your stake. To win the Grand Jackpot worth 2,000 times your stake, you’ll need to fill the whole of the reels with sun symbols. You can trigger the Fire Blaze Respin feature from both the base game and the Free Games feature.
There’s nothing very original about Pharaoh’s Daughter. We’ve seen similar features in many other slot games. The free spins and the streak respins are both good additions though and well worth hitting. Combine that with the classy visuals and haunting Arabian backing track and Pharaoh’s Daughter becomes a very playable take on this ever-popular theme. It’s not volatile or different enough in my opinion – I would rather try Big Time Gaming’s Queen of Riches.
