As you’d expect from such a high-profile film adaptation, there’s a glossy feel to the design here. With the Metropolis skyline in the background and Batman and Superman to the side, the reels include lower value newspaper, camera, peach tea, sword and shield, Batmobile and Kryptonite symbols.
More lucrative are Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred the Butler and Jesse Eisenberg as baddie Lex Luthor. The best of the standard symbols is the combined Batman/Superman logo which awards 50 times your stake if you land 5 on a line.
Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) are all wild -as is the Doomsday symbol which spins in a fully stacked formation. All these wilds can combine to create a winning combination. Land 5 and you’ll win 50 times your stake. There are plenty of extras on offer in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice:
Shifting Wilds Symbols feature – both Batman and Superman are shifting wilds. When they land, they stay on the reels. Superman moves 1 space to the left on each subsequent spin with Batman moving 1 space to the right. Superman falls off the reels after reel 1 whilst Batman fall off the reels after reel 5.
Batman v Superman Free Games feature – this round is triggered when the Superman and Batman wilds end up on the same row. Choose a superhero – when they appear on a row, a fight ensues which brings even more wilds into play. 4 extra free spins are added when your chosen super hero wins a fight.
Dawn of Justice Free Games feature – land Doomsday fully stacked on reel 3 to activate the second free spins round. Doomsday re-appears fully stacked on reel 5 and moves 1 reel to the left with each free spin. Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman wilds push him back a reel. The free spins continue until the Doomsday stacked wild reaches reel 1.
Jackpot – Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is part of the DC Super Heroes Jackpot Network which can be triggered at random on any spin. Choose icons from the grid to reveal the Mini, Minor, Major or Grand jackpot prize. The latter can offer multi-million pound amounts!
There’s plenty to like in this superhero-themed outing. The sound and visuals are as slick as you’d imagine. The features stack up pretty well too, offering a nice variety. Both the free spins have the potential to offer some cracking action courtesy of all the added wild extras. We enjoyed some excellent success in the Dawn of Justice Free Games feature due to the Doomsday stacked wild remaining on the reels if plenty of Batman, Superman or Wonder Woman wilds land on the reels.
The film version of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice took a bit of a kicking from the critics – the slot game version shouldn’t suffer that fate. Well designed and offering some interesting extras, this superhero yarn is certainly worth a watch. If you like super heroes, I recommend you try some of Playtech’s other DC Comics range with Justice League and Man of Steel the better ones.
