The design here is impressively done - joining the lower value A to 9 playing cards are a range of characters from the film. In order of value, you’ll see Bruce Wayne (Bale), Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman), Scarecrow, Dr Jonathan Crane (Cillian Murphy) and Ra’s Al Ghul (Ken Watanabe).
The top paying symbol is Batman (Bale again) who awards 50 times your stake if you land 5 on a line. The action takes place in 5 different locations from the film - each location offers a different extra whenever a wild hits:
- The Temple - look out for the flower wild here. This expands in a criss cross formation to create a 5-symbol, x shape wild.
- Wayne Manor - the petrol wild engulfs everything in its path, turning those symbols wild too.
- The Batcave - the Batmobile is wild here. When it hits, it triggers a respin. The wild moves 1 space to left before each respin. These continue until the Batmobile has driven off the left of the reels.
- Arkham Asylum - it’s the Bat-Signal symbol that’s wild here. It appears on random symbols adding a multiplier which can boost payouts by up to 50x!
- The Monorail - the Microwave symbol has the transforming powers here. The highest paying symbol next to the microwave wild is then chosen. The wild shoots a burst of energy to transform other symbols into the same one. A new payout is then made.
You get to move locations by filling up the meter above the reels. This is done by landing specific symbols in the Hot Spot location on the middle position of reel 3. You can move to 1 of 2 different locations each time, depending on which symbol fills the meter first. Hope to see Batman land on the Hot Spot too. When he does, he turns wild and expands to fill the whole of the reel.

You’ll notice that there aren’t any free spins on offer here. The wild extras are a pretty good substitute though, especially as you progress through the levels. Your meter is held so you don’t start from scratch each time you log in.
The design is as good as you’d hope for from a high-profile film adaptation. The range of extras isn’t as wide as you’ll find in other similarly themed slot games though. The wild extras can deliver though, making Batman Begins worth closer investigation if you enjoy the super hero theme. I particularly like the Bat-Signal wild in Arkham Asylum as a 50x multiplier can result in huge wins. I also suggest you try Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice which is excellent.
