The set up here is a rather unusual as the reels appear in a 2x3x3x4x5x5 formation. On them, you’ll find the usual assortment of lower value playing card values and Egyptian hieroglyphs. The bird, cat and dog gods Ra, Bastet and Anubis offer awards of 2.5 times your total stake if you land 6 in combination.
Next come the Legend logo and Cleopatra herself, both of which offer 3.75 times your total stake if you land 6 on a line. The most lucrative symbol is the golden wild which pays up to 5 times your total stake as well as substituting for everything bar the scatter.
Appearing on reels 2-6 only, the scarab beetle is that scatter. Land 3, 4 or 5 of these and you’ll trigger the Free Spins feature and with it, 5, 10 or 15 free spins. Re-triggers are possible here too - landing just 2 scatters adds 2 more free spins to your tally. Finding 3, 4 or 5 adds another 5, 10 or 15. The reels reverse in the feature too. It’s reels 1 and 2 that are 5 high rather than reels 5 and 6.
You’ll notice that the 4-high reel is edged in gold. Fill that gold reel with wilds and you’ll unlock the Double Wild Reel feature - 1 reel is chosen at random and it too will turn totally wild. A new payout follows with the extra wild reel in play. The Double Wild Reels feature can hit in both the base game and Free Spins feature.
At first glance, Legend of Cleopatra looks like a very unusual game. The features are actually pretty straightforward. The 100 paylines offer plenty of action too. As usual for a Playson slot game, we have few grumbles about the design. The opulent setting is nicely done and the haunting soundtrack is an ideal complement.
This isn’t the freshest take on the Egyptian theme you’ll see. The combination of high spec sound and visuals and playable features make it a perfectly solid all-rounder though. If you like the reel set up, Zeus III by WMS is similar and also flips in the feature.
