Joker Expand: 5 Lines Slot

The latest addition to Playson’s ‘Timeless Fruit Slots’ collection is Joker Expand: 5 Reels. As its name suggests, this super simple game is played using a 5 reel, 5 payline game engine and comes with joker wilds that expand to fill the whole reel whenever they hit. Play on all devices from between 10p and £100 per spin.

Joker Expand: 5 Reels is a very straightforward slot game. There’s a glossy look to the design here. The dark reels feature a selection of classic fruit machine symbols. On the bottom rung of the payout ladder are the plums, oranges, lemons and cherries which pay 2, 5 or 20 times your stake if you land 3, 4 or 5 in a line. They’re followed by the pear which pays up to 40 times your stake per payline.

Land 3, 4 or 5 of the melons and grapes and you can look forward to a payout of 8, 20 or 100 times your stake. The best of the standard symbols is the lucky red 7 which awards 2, 10, 50 or 500 times your stake for a 2, 3, 4 or 5-symbol combination.

Joker Expand: 5 Lines also comes with 2 scatters. They don’t trigger any bonus features as there aren’t any. They do offer some decent payouts though. The silver star scatter appears on reels 1, 3 and 5 only. Land 3 on the same spin and you’ll pocket an award equal to 20 times your total stake. The gold star scatter can land on all 5 reels. Find 3, 4 or 5 of them on the same spin and you’ll receive 3, 20 or 100 times your stake.

The symbol you’ll really be hoping to see though is the smiling joker which is the wild. Whenever the joker lands, it expands to turn the whole of that reel wild. The joker can hit on the 3 middle reels. Land them on more than 1 reel on the same spin and some top results are possible.

That’s pretty much it. This is a very basic game with zero in the way of extras. The medium variance Joker Expand: 5 Reels is strictly for fans of classic fruit machines – it offers payouts of 1,050 times your stake on every spin. If that’s all you’re after, then it does the job perfectly well. If you want back story, bonuses and features then you’ll be better served looking elsewhere – such as God of Wild Sea (also by Playson).
