Fruits & Jokers: 40 Lines Slot

It’s a case of ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ for Playson which has just released Fruits & Jokers 40 Lines. Like the original 20 payline version, this sequel is a super simple game that doesn’t offer much in the way of extras but can still deliver some potentially big action thanks to the stacked wilds and big scatter payouts. Play on your PC, tablet or mobile from between 20p and £100 per spin.

If you’ve played the original Fruits & Jokers: 20 Lines slot game, you’ll have a pretty good idea of what to expect in this 40 payline version. The 5 reel, 4 row machine is filled with classic fruity imagery. The lowest paying symbols are the lemons, oranges and cherries which will get you an award of 0.25, 0.75 or 2.25 times your total stake if you land 3, 4 or 5 on 1 of the game’s 40 paylines.

Slightly more rewarding are the grapes and melons. Which deliver awards of 0.5, 1.5 or 4.5 times your stake. The lucky red 7 is the top paying standard symbol. Land 3, 4 or 5 of these in combination and you’ll get a payout of some 0.5, 2.5 or 7.5 times your stake.

There’s a real payout jump when it comes to the wild and scatter. The smiling female joker is the wild. This substitutes for everything apart from the scatter (the gold star). Land 3, 4 or 5 wilds in a line and you’ll win 1.25, 12.5 or 37.5 times your bet. The wild spins in full stacks which can lead to some very decent combinations.

What you’ll really be hoping to see is 3 or more of the scatter hitting on the same spin. In that happy event, you can look forward to a reward of 5, 20 or 400 times your total stake.

That’s it as far as gameplay goes. We’re in stripped back fruit machine territory here. There aren’t any extras to speak of so if you’re after bonus features look elsewhere. The variance is in the medium range with top payouts of 750 times your stake on each spin.

Fruits & Jokers 40 Lines is as simple a slot game as you’ll find. It probably doesn’t stand up to repeat play but for a classic old school blast that can deliver some decent wild action it does the job well enough. I would much rather play feature-packed slot games like Claws vs Paws and Chicago Gangsters – both by Playson.
