Village Kid Slot

The quest to find new themes for slot games takes developers to some unlikely places and they don’t come much more unlikely than an Istanbul kebab house which is the setting for Village Kid. Powered by Play ’N Go, it’s a 5 reel, 20 payline slot game that comes with a tasty bonus feature that comes with a menu of free spins and multiplier prizes as well as a pick me feature. Tuck in to this very tasty game, on all devices, from between 20p and £100 per spin.

The theme may be a little unusual but the design here works well - a night time city scene, complete with a bridge over the Bosphorous forms the backdrop to the reels. Those reels include lower value A to 10 playing card values as well as quartet of higher value food-related symbols.

You’ll see a rickshaw full of pastries, a pitta bread full of salad and a plate full of mussels. Best of all is the doner kebab - land 2, 3, 4 or 5 of these and you’ll win 3, 25, 250 or 750 coins. The ice cream is the wild - it replaces all other symbols bar the 2 bonuses and offers prizes of up to 3,000 coins. There are 2 bonus rounds on offer in Village Kid:

Street Food Bonus feature - this is triggered by landing 3 of the woman symbol on the same spin. You’ll be taken to a new screen filled with shops. Open doors to reveal cash prizes of up to 500 times your stake.

Free Spins feature - land 3, 4 or 5 of the young man symbol anywhere on the same spin and you’ll get a payout of 3, 15 or 150 times your total bet. You’ll also get the pick of 3 free spin/multiplier combinations. The choices are:

  • 5 free spins with a 6x wild multiplier
  • 10 free spins with a 3x wild multiplier
  • 15 free spins with a 2x wild multiplier

These multipliers can combine if you land more than 1 wild in a payline. For example, a pair of 6x wilds results in a 12x boost!

A Turkish kebab joint may sound an unlikely choice for a slot game theme - Village Kid works well though. The visuals are very nicely put together and the Turkish-style backing track certainly adds to the atmosphere. The features don’t offer anything we haven’t seen before but are solid additions that deliver a steady stream of action.

We enjoyed Village Kid far more than we expected too. There’s nothing too fancy here but for some tasty, Turkish action, get stuck in. Saying that, it’s a medium to high variance offering with potential wins of up to 6,568 times your stake if you manage the 12x multiplier. I also recommend you try some of Play ‘N Go’s other games with Viking Runecraft and Grim Muerto my favourites.
