50 Fortune Fruits Slot Review

Novomatic has spiced up the design and gameplay of many of its recent releases but shows that it can still deliver classic, old school action courtesy of the 50 Fortune Fruits slot. As its name suggests, it’s a 5 reel, 50 payline fruity that comes with a Free Games feature where you can win 10, 20 or 30 free spins. Play from between 25p and £50 per spin – on desktop, mobile and tablet devices.

Retro design

There’s a real retro flavour to 50 Fortune Fruits. The action takes place on a 5 reel, 4 row machine where you’ll find a collection of classic fruity imagery. On those reels you’ll find cherries, lemons, oranges and plums which offer payouts of up to 3.2 times your stake per payline.

They’re joined by melons and grapes which pay up to 6.4x. Next come the bell and strawberry which award 9.6x if you land 5 on a payline. The top standard symbols are the red and silver 7s. Land 3, 4 or 5 of these in combination and you’ll receive a payout of 0.8, 3.2 or 16 times your stake.

Wilds pay up to 160 x stake

The smiling joker is the wild. This substitutes for everything apart from the scatter. The joker can be very rewarding too as it pays 1.6, 8 or 160 times your total stake if you land 3, 4 or 5 on a payline.

Free spins

The other symbol to keep an eye out for is the scatter. Land 3, 4 or 5 of this anywhere on the same spin and you’ll trigger the game’s Free Games feature. On offer here are 10, 20 or 30 free spins. There are no other extras or even a retrigger available.

Simple old school fruity

There’s nothing flashy about the 50 Fortune Fruits slot. This is a real old school fruit machine. The design is simply done and the only extra to speak of is the Free Games feature. If you were to fill all symbol positions with smiling joker wilds, you’d win 8,000 times your stake – however, there’s a cap of 500 times your stake on each spin or free spin which is rather disappointing!

If you enjoy the simple pleasures offered by a fruit machine, then by all means dive in. If you want features and variety, look elsewhere – I would recommend Novomatic’s Book of Ra: Temple of Gold as well as the brilliant Golden Glyph by Quickspin.
