The Reel Steal Slot

Play private detective in The Reel Steel, a cracking crime-themed slot game from Net Entertainment. Played using a 5 reel, 9 payline game engine, it comes with wild multipliers that boost payouts by 5x in the base game and 25x in the free spins feature. Play on all devices from between 9p and £45 per spin.

The design in The Reel Steal is very well done - rather than playing cards, all of the symbols relate to the theme. You’ll see passports and guns, cameras and floor plans, bags full of cash, briefcases with diamonds and a safe full of gold bars. They’re joined by 5 human characters. The best of them is the man pointing the gun who’ll get you 166 times stake if you land 5 on a payline.

The yellow sports car is the wild - it can land on all 5 reels and replaces everything apart from the scatter. It doesn’t offer any payouts in its own right but it does boost the payout by 5x whenever it forms part of a winning combination in the base game.

Things have the potential to get even better in the Free Spins feature - that’s triggered by landing 3, 4 or 5 of the sticks of dynamite scatter on the same spin. You can then look forward to a payout of 4, 15 or 100 times your total stake as well as 15, 20 or 25 free spins.

All wins in the feature come with a 5x multiplier - if you’re lucky enough to land a winner that includes the wild, then the payout rockets to a massive 25x boost! Every time a scatter lands during the feature round 1 more free spin is added to your total.

The visuals here are done comic book style and work very well. The soundtrack is an absolute corker too. It’s like a mash up to the Theme From Shaft and the opening titles in Bullitt and gives the game a grimy 70s feel. The gameplay is simple but the multipliers offer plenty of potential. We found it quite feisty as far as volatility goes – it does offer payouts of nearly 4,500 times stake on each free spins involving a wild.

We really liked The Reel Steal. The theme is superbly executed and there’s plenty in the way of gameplay. Get lucky with those big multipliers and The Reel Steal can live up to its name. I would also recommend you try Hotline, also by Net Entertainment, which offers a similar feel/theme.
