With the desert in the background, the reels are set within a frame of stone blocks that are covered in hieroglyphs. There you’ll find 4 brightly coloured gemstones alongside a pot, a treasure chest and a mysterious book. Jungle Jim is the top payer with 10 times your stake for 5 in combination. There’s also a wild that can land on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 and replace all other symbols bar the scatter.
The action takes place using a Rolling Reels feature. After a winning combination hits, those symbols are removed and a new symbol drop takes place. Get on a run with these drops and it brings multipliers into play:
- 1st roll has a 2x multiplier
- 2nd roll has a 3x multiplier
- 3rd roll has a 4x multiplier – the number of paylines increases from 35 to 50
- 4th roll has a 5x multiplier (with 50 paylines)
- 5th roll has a 10x multiplier (with 50 paylines)
After a winless roll (i.e. a non-winning spin), the reels go back to their standard 35 payline/1x multiplier set-up. The only exception is if you go winless on roll 3. You’ll then get a second chance drop and another opportunity to create a winner – this is known as the Second Chance Respin feature.
The main feature is the Free Spins feature. It’s triggered by landing 3 of the Sphinx scatters on the same spin. You’ll then receive 12 free spins which are played on an expanded 50 payline machine. The multipliers in play in the feature are bigger than in the base game.
An initial win benefits from a 2x boost. Each subsequent roll or win delivers a multiplier of 3x, 4x, 8x, 12x or 20x.Look out for the Sphinx symbol on reel 3. When these land during the free spins, they are removed and create a Reel Roll. They also increase the multiplier by 1 level making it easier to achieve the maximum 20x multiplier.
If you wish, you can increase your base game stakes and play with the Win Booster feature active. This means that you’ll only need to land 2 rather than 3 scatter symbols to trigger the Free Spins feature.
This second outing for Jungle Jim is playable enough. The Rolling Reels and multipliers can combine to deliver some top action. That’s certainly the case in the Free Spins feature where the really big multipliers are on offer. It’s not a hugely volatile game but the medium variance keeps things moving – there are wins of 6,250 times your stake on every free spin available though.
