A Dark Matter Slot Review

Play detective in a Victorian mystery in A Dark Matter, a 5 reel, 5 payline slot game from Microgaming. Look out for stacked wilds that can land on reels 2 and 4 and expand to turn an adjacent reel wild too. There’s also a bonus round that awards free spins where more wild extras and potential 2x wild multipliers are in play. Play this volatile affair on all devices from between 5p and £50 per spin.

Head to Wraith Manor

The setting here is Wraith Manor, an English country house, which has experienced a series of mysterious disappearances. On the reels you’ll see A to 10 royals as well as members of the distinguished Wraith family – the Lord of the Manor is the most lucrative symbol with 240 times your stake on offer if you get 5 on a payline. The design looks like it could come straight out of a Sunday night BBC drama.

Stacked invading wilds

Central to the action are the wilds. These can appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 only. Land a full stack of wilds on reels 2 or 4 and they will invade the adjacent reel 3 and turn that reel wild too. This is called the Invading Wilds feature and will give you 3 wild reels basically.

Unlimited free spins with 2x multipliers

The main feature is the Free Spins feature. It’s triggered by landing 3 scatters on the same spin. You can then look forward to 12 free spins. The wilds on reels 2 and 4 appear in super stacked formation which increases your chances of bringing an invading wild into play.

Land wild stacks on reels 2 and 4 during the free spins and reel 3 turns wild too. As well as a block of 9 wilds dominating the centre of the reels, you’ll also be in line for a 2x multiplier boost from any winning combinations that land on that spin. Hope to see plenty of scatters during the feature too. Each one that lands adds 1 extra free spin to your total.

High variance A Dark Matter

If you like plenty of backstory from your slot games, then you won’t be disappointed with A Dark Matter which is full of it. The dark, Gothic style design is very nicely done and has a decidedly creepy feel. The gameplay is relatively simple but can really spring into life in the Free Spins feature if the super stacked wilds fall nicely.

This is a volatile slot game though so be warned. It’s possible to win up to 1,200 times your total stake on a single base game spin and double that in the feature (2,400 times your stake). We enjoyed A Dark Matter. If you fancy some Victorian drama, this mysterious slot game delivers plenty. If you like the theme, Immortal Romance (also by Microgaming) or Blood Suckers II (by Net Entertainment) would be my recommendations.
