Looks wise, Paint is not really a masterpiece – it has cartoon style graphics and is bright and colourful. With paint splashed on the reel set, symbols include A, K, Q, J and 10 playing cards inside bubbles as well as paintbrushes/palettes and 3 bottles of paint.
The pink one with the lightning bolt inside is the highest value giving you 100 times your stake for 5 across a payline. There is also a wild symbol which replaces all symbols bar the bonus and paint splash symbols. Look out for the blog of pink paint symbol appearing on the middle reel – this will reward you with just 1 free spin.
The bonus symbol is important as 3 or more will trigger the Pain Free Spins feature – you will get 5 free spins. 3, 4 or 5 bonus symbols will give you a 1x multiplier, 2x base multiplier and 3x base multiplier respectively. You also have the blob of pink paint which gives you an extra free spin each time it appears.
Now, look out for the blob of yellow paint on the 1st reel as this increases the multiplier by 1. If you get the red blob of paint on the 2nd reel, the multiplier goes up by 2x. The blue paint blob adds 3x to the multiplier whilst the green blob of paint increases it by 4x! In total, there are 10 free spins to be won with a 102x multiplier available in theory!
The other symbol to look out for is the paint splash symbol as 3 or more activates the Paint Bonus feature – here you need to pop as many balloons as possible with the word ‘END’ ending the feature. The stake multiplier awarded depends on how many symbols you got to trigger the feature as 5 of them will treble your outcome.
Paint is a weird slot game – it’s quite odd but that does make Iron Dog Studio’s maiden release unique. I found the biggest wins to come from the free spins due to the multipliers. In total, you can win up to 5,000 times your stake on every spin so it’s definitely lucrative if you’re luck is in. If you like art, Art of the Heist by Playson and Da Vinci Diamonds by IGT are recommended.
