ELK Studios are among the market leaders when it comes design and Hong Kong Tower is another impressive looking release. The Hong Kong cityscape at night forms the backdrop to the reels. The game is aimed primarily at mobile and tablet users and the imagery looks super sharp, even on small-screen devices.
Symbols include line drawn, fluorescent-style flowers which stand out nicely against the giant Hong Kong Tower. Keep a special eye out for the Hong Kong Tower logo which is the game’s mystery symbol. When this symbol lands, it can transform into any other symbol and give another shot at creating a winning combination. This is the Mystery feature.
The chief attraction in Hong Kong Tower is the Wheels of the Sky Bonus feature which is triggered by landing a blue Mystery Bonus symbol or 3 or more red Bonus symbols on any reel positions. 1 or 2 extra lives are added if you land 4 or 5 red Bonus symbols. Finding a blue Mystery Bonus symbol always guarantees 2 extra lives.
You’ll then be shown 3 giant sky scrapers, each of which is topped by a bonus wheel. The first wheel spins and depending on where the pointer lands, you’ll be awarded a cash prize. These spins continue until you land the same section of the wheel for a second time. If you do, 1 of your lives will be taken – running out of lives will end the feature.
Hope to land an arrow as this will move you up to the next wheel where bigger prizes are on offer. Make it to the third wheel where the biggest awards can be won – up to 500 times your stake. You can win multiple cash prizes though with a whopping 3,106 times your stake up for grabs!
Despite its slick design, Hong Kong Tower is actually a fairly simple game. The mystery symbols certainly help the base game action but the best winning chances come via the Wheels of the Sky Bonus feature. Trigger with some extra lives and progress to the third reel and some big awards are certainly possible. This is a volatile slot game though so expect plenty of lean runs punctuated by the occasional biggie.
This is another typical effort from ELK Studios - it looks terrific and comes with a potentially hard-hitting feature.
