The 3D style visuals in Return of Kong MegaWays are nicely done. Set against a jungle backdrop, the symbols appear on stone blocks which drop into position with each spin. As well as lower value royals you’ll see a selection of wild animals spinning around the reels including birds, rhinos and tigers. Kong is the best standard symbol, awarding 1, 2, 10, 25 or 50 times your stake if you land 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 in combination. There’s also a wild symbol which substitutes for all of the standard symbols.
The game mechanic here sees winning symbols removed from the reels once a successful spin occurs. New symbols drop in and replace them. These ‘reactions’ keep on coming as long as a new winning combination is created.
The number of symbols on each reels changes on each spin. As does the number of potential MegaWays.
On any spin, Kong can award a Mystery Kong feature. Kong lobs up to 100 barrels onto the reels. All barrels on show then morph into the same matching symbol. A new payout calculation then follows with the new matching symbols in position.
Hope to see the 4 letters of Kong’s medallion appear on the same spin as they trigger the game’s Free Spins feature.
On offer here are 12 free spins (extra free spins are awarded if there are added medallions on the triggering spin). The Cascading Symbols feature is in play during the free spins. Each ‘cascade’ increases a multiplier by 1x. T
his doesn’t drop back to 1x after a lowing drop either, it remains the same or increases. Mystery barrels are in play throughout the free spins round too. Collect 3 monkey icons during the feature to trigger the Golden Monkeys feature – this will add more free spins to your total as well as to award extra modifiers and increased MegaWays.
If you’ve played other MegaWays slot games, you’ll have a pretty good idea of what to expect from Return of Kong MegaWays. The design here is very accomplished as we’ve come to expect. The MegaWays mechanic delivers plenty of action too, especially in the Free Spins feature where the multipliers can come into their own. The variance here is in the medium to high range with potential wins of 50,000 times your stake on every free spin.
There’s a slapstick feel to Return of Kong MegaWays. If you like MegaWays slot games, then it’s one to add to your playing rotation. The best one we’ve come across is Holy Diver MegaWays from Big Time Gaming or Medusa MegaWays from NextGen Gaming by the way.
