All the usual lazy stereotypes are present and correct in the design of Irish Frenzy. Set against a rural green backdrop, you’ll see A to 10 symbols as well as 4 shamrocks, toadstools and glasses of stout. The best of the standard symbols is the gold harp which pays 200 times your stake if you land 5 on a payline.
The chest full of coins pays scatter style, awarding 1, 5 or 20 times your stake if you manage to find 3, 4 or 5 of them anywhere on the reels on the same spin.
The actual scatter is the rainbow pot. Land 3, 4 or 5 of these and you’ll trigger the Free Games feature with 10, 15 or 20 free spins. Joining the action here is the leprechaun. This wild substitutes for all other symbols as well as delivering awards of 1, 10, 50 or 500 times your stake if you land 2, 3, 4 or 5 on a payline.
You’ll notice that the chests full of coins come with coin values attached. Each chest can contain 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 50 times your stake. If you land a leprechaun symbol during the free spins, it collects all of the treasure chest amounts which are then awarded at the end of the feature. If you don’t want to wait to trigger the bonus round, you can click on the Free Spins Frenzy tab to the left of the reels and buy your way in.
Irish Frenzy is a very simple slot game. The cartoon visuals are decent enough but the occasional cries of the leprechaun quickly begin to grate. There’s an old school feel to the backing track that works pretty well. The gameplay is as straightforward as the design. The best opportunities arise in the feature when the treasure chests can deliver some decent extra rewards. The variance is in the medium to high range.
There’s nothing complicated or sophisticated about Irish Frenzy. If you’re not a fan of theme, then there’s not a huge amount to win you round. If you like a tinge of green as you play, then it’s worth a look – I would much rather play Irish Riches (MegaWays) which is also by Blueprint Gaming.
