Rich n Wild Slot

Join the big beasts of the Mexican jungle in Rich n Wild, an animal-themed slot game from Ainsworth. Played using a 5 reel, 30 payline game engine, it comes with a free spins bonus where you could add sticky wilds. Play from between 30p and £3,000 per spin.

Ainsworth has kept things as simple as it usual does in Rich n Wild. The visuals are as stripped back as normal. You’ll see an assortment of jungle flora and animals spinning around the reels alongside lower value A to 9 playing cards. The best of the higher value animal symbols is the red-faced monkey who’ll get you 200 coins if you land a 5-symbol combination in the base game.

Things are a little different in the bonus feature, more of which shortly. There’s also a wild, the Chichen Itza pyramid. It doesn’t offer any payouts in its own right but it does substitute for all other symbols apart from the tribal shield scatter.

Landing 3, 4 or 5 of that tribal shield on the same spin will trigger the Free Games feature – you will get an award equal to 2, 10 or 100 times your total stake as well as 12 free spins. The reel set up and paytable are slightly different during the feature. A Rich n Wild symbol is added to reels 1 and 5 - when it lands on both on the same free spin, you’ll activate the Rich N Wild feature.

Any wild that hits on reels 2, 3 or 4 once this extra is active will turn into a sticky wild and will be locked in place for the duration of the feature. Look out for the shield scatter too as landing 2 of them on reels 1 and 5 will add 3 more free spins to your tally.

This is a very vanilla slot game from Ainsworth. The design is bog standard and there’s little in the way of innovation on offer in the features. The free spins round has potential thanks to the sticky wilds but it hardly got the blood flowing. Rich n Wild feels a little tired in both design and gameplay. Other developers have really upped their game recently. On this evidence, Ainsworth has plenty of catching up to do. I much prefer other jungle themed titles such as Jungle Books from Yggdrasil Gaming.
