Pussy Cat Slot

What’s new Pussy Cat? Well not a lot really in this 5 reel, 25 payline slot game from Ainsworth. The highlight of Pussy Cat is undoubtedly the Free Games feature where up to 16 free spins are on offer, complete with wild multipliers that can boost payouts by up to 6x. You’ll also have a chance to land 1 of 4 jackpot prizes. Play on your PC, tablet or mobile from between £1 and £40 per spin.

There’s nothing very flashy about the design in Pussy Cat. The reels include the usual lower value A to 9 symbols as well as cat toys, bells and balls of wool. The latter 3 all pay 0.2, 1.6 or 4 times your total stake if you land 3, 4 or 5 on the same payline.

The cartoon cat follows. Land 3, 4 or 5 of these for a reward of 0.2, 2 or 6 times your stake. Top of the standard payers is the wind up mouse which delivers payouts of 0.2, 2.4 or 8 times your stake. The gold fish is the wild, replacing all of the standard symbols.

Pussy Cat comes with a single bonus round – the Free Games feature. This is triggered by landing 3, 4 or 5 of the paw print scatter on the same spin. After a payout of 2, 20 or 50 times your total stake, you’ll go on to play 8 free spins. Land 2 scatters and you’ll receive a respin and a shot at landing the triggering third.

Joining the gold fish is the silver fish which is a second wild that can land on reels 2, 3 and 4 only. The 2 wilds each come with a multiplier value attached which boosts their payouts by up to 6x. Better still is if you manage to land more than 1 wild in the same winning combination. Manage that and the multipliers are combined to deliver an even bigger award.

The paytable is amended during the Free Games feature – you can also retrigger the feature to give you 16 free spins in total. Finally, land a full stack of gold fish wilds during the feature and you’ll win 1 of the 4 jackpot prizes. Once activated the Mini, Minor, Major or Grand Jackpots are awarded at random – the latter is worth £30,000.

Pussy Cat is just what we’ve come to expect from an Ainsworth slot game - their games are obviously very popular but we don’t always see the attraction. There’s nothing special about the design here and the gameplay is rather ordinary.  It’s not the most volatile slot game you’ll see either with the variance in the medium range.

If you like Ainsworth titles, then expect the usual fare from Pussy Cat. If you’ve not yet been won over by the Aussie developer, then this probably won’t tempt you either. I’d rather ferocious cats like the ones in Safari King (by Pragmatic Play).
