Just like the original, the design in Chibeasties 2 is impressive - the reels are set within a woodland and include 4 toadstool symbols as well as a quartet of Chibeasties. The most rewarding symbol is the brown Chibeastie who awards a payout of 12.5 times your total bet if you land 5 on a payline.
When firing up Chibeasties 2, you'll be given the option of playing in 1 of 4 different realms. These offer a little something extra whenever a wild lands. The choices are:
- Expanding Realm - whenever a wild lands, it will expand to fill the whole of that reel.
- Spreading Realm - any wild that lands will spread between 1 and 4 extra wilds onto the reels too.
- Teleporting Realm - wilds that land move to new positions on the reels in order to create the best possible winning combination.
- Mirroring Realm - a cross appears in the centre of the reels. Wilds are mirrored on both sides of the axis in the equivalent positions.
Chibeasties 2 also comes with a Wild Mutation feature - after a wild win, the wilds can transform into wilds from a new realm and add a second wild combination and a new payout to match.
Chibeasties 2 also comes with a Free Spins feature - to trigger it, you'll need to land 3, 4 or 5 of the free spins scatter anywhere on the reels. You'll then be awarded 7, 15 or 30 free spins. The free spins are played in the same realm as the triggering spin. Every wild win during the feature comes with a guaranteed wild mutation which offers a second chance of a win. It's possible to re-trigger more free spins here too giving you up to 60 free spins potentially.
This sequel shares many of the qualities that made the original Chibeasties slot game a hit - the design, as we've come to expect from Yggdrasil Gaming, is excellent. There's plenty of variety on offer from the features too thanks to the different wild goodies on offer in each realm.
The free spins round is a good one too, especially if you manage a sequence of wins that include a wild. This isn't the most volatile slot game we've come across as we'd put the variance in the medium range.
