As you’d expect given the theme, green, gold and rainbows dominate the imagery in Gaelic Luck – the reels are set against a shamrock-filled backdrop and include A to 10 playing cards and a trio of ladies known as the ‘Lucky Lasses’. The best of these is the pouting woman in green who awards up to 50 times your stake if you land 5 on a payline.
Potentially even more rewarding is the pot of gold coins which is the wild – it replaces everything apart from the scatter. Land 5 of these in combination and you can look forward to a payout of 500 times your stake! The Gaelic Luck Rainbow Logo is the scatter – hit 3, 4 or 5 of these anywhere on the reels on the same spin and you’ll pocket a payout equal to 5, 10 or 50 times your total stake. It offers no bonus feature oddly enough.
To trigger the main attraction, the Lucky Lasses Bonus feature, you’ll need to land the bonus symbol (the horse shoe and 4 leaf clover) on reels 1 and 5 on the same spin. First choose 1 of the 3 Lucky Lasses which will reveal how many free spins you’ve been awarded – between 3 and 20.
Then choose from the 6 coins which will reveal the multiplier applied to any wins you land during the feature – between 2x and 10x. Get lucky here and you could end up with 20 free spins and a 10x multiplier. You can also retrigger the feature giving you a potential 40 free spins with a whopping 10x multiplier!
The design here is very simple. The visuals are good enough without being anything special. There’s a jaunty jig playing in the background as you spin. We’re not far from Father Ted and his ‘Lovely Girls’ in the ‘Lucky Lasses’ bonus round. It’s hard to tell whether Playtech has its tongue firmly in its cheek here. Politically correct it ain’t. Either way, the free spins can deliver some decent action if you manage to land a decent sized multiplier.
If you don’t mind the plentiful Irish clichés then Playtech has served up a decent, if very simple slot game here. If you like the theme, Rainbow Ryan by Yggdrasil Gaming is recommended.
