Monopoly Bring The House Down Slot

Based on the ever-popular board game, Monopoly Bring The House Down is a 5 reel, 4 row, 40 payline slot game from Barcrest. Just like the other slots in the Monopoly franchise, Bring Down The House comes with plenty of extras. Look out for special Hot Zones that add wilds and multipliers as well as free spins. You can also pay extra and spin in Big Bet mode and pick some modifier extras from the Community Chest. Play, on all devices, from between 10p and £500 per spin.

Like the rest of the Monopoly-themed slot games, Bring The House Down is well designed. Joining the lower value A to 10 playing cards are the famous car, ship, dog and cat tokens - the cat offers awards of up to 80 coins per payline. They’re joined by the green house symbol which can become wild. In fact, the wilds are central to the action here.

Look out for the Hot Zone Wild patterns that appear in addition to the reels on every spin. If a green house or red hotel land on 1 of the Hot Zone Wild spaces, that position becomes wild.  Green houses are good but red hotels are even better - you can receive these hotel upgrades, the Hotel Upgrade feature, at random and in the process receive a multiplier boost of up to 5x.

Monopoly Bring Down The House also comes with a Free Spins feature - this is triggered by landing the Monopoly logo symbol on reels 1, 3 and 5 on the same spin. Any green house wilds or red hotel multiplier wilds remain frozen in place if they hit during the feature.

Also on offer in Monopoly Bring Down The House are 3 randomly activated modifier extras:

  • Chance Card feature - choose a card to reveal a Hot Zone pattern which is then dropped onto the reels for the spin that follows. You’ll then have a chance to land house and hotel wilds.
  • Bonus Selector feature - when this becomes active, a Hot Zone pattern drops at random onto the reels. You’ll then have 3 seconds to decide whether to keep or pass this pattern. You may then be offered another Hot Zone pattern. When you collect, you’ll have the chance to land houses and hotel wilds and multipliers in the Hot Zone.
  • Bonus Drop feature - this can be awarded if the Hot Zone pattern falls entirely outside the reels. A Hot Zone will drop onto the reels with the potential to land wilds and multiplier wilds.

This being an Barcrest title, you’ll also have the chance to play the Big Bet feature - this is a series of 5 linked spins. These cost extra but you’ll be offered a range of modifier extras in return, this time in the form of picks (up to 4) from the Community Chest cards.

These will offer an instant cash win, guaranteed winning spins, extra spins, hotel upgrades with 2x, 3x, 4x and 5x multipliers, locked wilds and lower value symbols removed from play. At £20 stakes, you’ll get 1 pick. £30 and it’s 2 pick. £40 you’ll get 3 picks with 4 picks on offer if you opt for the maximum £50 Big Bet mode. The RTP rate increases to 98% if you do opt to play in Big Bet Mode.

Like the other slot games in this series, there’s plenty of variety on offer in Monopoly Bring The House Down. The wild zones are a neat enough innovation and offer some decent potential, especially if you manage to land a hotel upgrade and with it the associated multipliers. It can take a little while to get used to the slightly unusual gameplay so demo play is your friend at first.

Monopoly Bring The House Down certainly offers something a little different in terms of gameplay. If you’re a fan of the original board game but want more variety than the standard “around the board” slots offer, the this is certainly worth a look. This release doesn’t quite live up to its name and Bring The House Down. It’s a solid enough effort though and well worth a spin. Alternatively, Epic Monopoly II by parent company WMS is recommended.
